William "Bud" Rogers was the first mayor of the Town of Dutch John. He served one full term and while his second term was cut short, he will always be remembered for all of his hard work and love he had for the town. His obituary follows.
William “Bud” Rogers
Age 59, longest living resident of Dutch John, UT and the town’s first mayor, passed away peacefully in his home on January 14th, 2020 after a hard battle with cancer. He was born on February 8th, 1960 in Sasebo Japan on a U.S. Naval base to his parents, Bill and Connie Rogers. He married the love of his life, Julie, on November 17th, 1984. Together they had two children, Amy and Kali.
Bud was a hard worker and loving husband, father and grandfather. He worked for Questar in Clay Basin for 25 years and then an additional 15 years for Solar Turbines. He loved to spend time with his family and adored his grandsons very much. Bud loved hanging out on his boat, fishing, playing his many guitars, and looking for “rocks”.
He is survived by his wife, Julie; daughters, Amy (David) McDonald of Dutch John and Kali Rogers of Vernal, UT, brother John A. (Shari) Rogers of Vernal, UT, sister Janet M. (Roger) Allred, grandsons Gage, John, Jameson, and Chandler and many other family members.
Bud was very dearly loved by family and friends alike and will be missed very much by all…love you see you HP, Brother, Dad, Papa.
